Skills for Life OT is a sole-trader private occupational therapy practice operated by Emma Cahill ("I", "me", "my").

I am the Data Controller for personal information processed in connection with Skills for Life OT.

This Privacy Policy explains how I collect, use, store and protect personal information when you use this website, contact me or engage with my occupational therapy services.

Information I may collect

Depending on how you interact with Skills for Life OT, I may collect information including:

• email address;
• telephone number;
• general location;
• your preferred method of contact;
• your child's age;
• the service you are interested in;
• correspondence and enquiry information; and
• information relevant to the provision of occupational therapy services.

If you become a client, additional information may be collected where necessary for assessment, therapy, professional record keeping and the provision of occupational therapy services.

This may include health, developmental, disability or neurodevelopmental information. Information concerning health is special category personal data and receives additional protection under data protection law.

Website enquiries

The website enquiry form is intended only for an initial enquiry.

Please do not submit detailed medical records, reports, diagnoses or other unnecessary sensitive health information through the initial enquiry form.

Information submitted through the website enquiry form is transmitted to Skills for Life OT at info@skillsforlifeot.ie.

The website does not maintain a database of enquiry submissions. The website application does not retain a separate persistent copy of an enquiry after it has been transmitted by email.

How I use your information

I may use personal information to:

• respond to enquiries;
• arrange consultations or appointments;
• provide occupational therapy assessments and services;
• communicate with parents, carers and relevant professionals where appropriate;
• maintain appropriate clinical and professional records;
• manage the administration of the practice;

I do not sell personal information or use client or enquiry information for third-party marketing.

The lawful basis relied upon will depend on the purpose for which information is being processed.

Information concerning health, development, disability or neurodevelopment may constitute special category personal data under Article 9 GDPR.

Where special category personal data is processed, Skills for Life OT will process it only where an applicable condition under Article 9 GDPR and applicable Irish data protection law permits that processing.

Website and service providers

The Skills for Life OT website is operated using Base44, a Wix company.

Base44 and its authorised service providers may process information where technically necessary to operate the website and transmit website enquiries.

The website enquiry system is configured so that enquiry submissions are transmitted by email to Skills for Life OT and are not persistently stored in the website application's enquiry database.

LRMC Digital provides website management and technical services to Skills for Life OT and acts as a Data Processor where it processes personal data on behalf of Skills for Life OT.

These service providers are not authorised to use enquiry or clinical information for their own independent marketing purposes.

International data transfers

Some of the technology providers used to operate the website may process personal information outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, appropriate safeguards required under applicable data protection law will be used.

Data retention

Personal information will not be retained for longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

Website enquiry information that does not lead to the provision of services will be retained only for an appropriate period determined by Skills for Life OT and will then be securely deleted when no longer required.

Where an individual becomes a client, clinical and professional records will be retained in accordance with applicable legal, regulatory and professional record-retention requirements.

Data security

Appropriate technical and organisational measures are used to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, disclosure or destruction.

Access to personal information is restricted to those who require it for legitimate professional, administrative or technical purposes.
